Curses! Overview

Curses! was the first group project I worked on, at the Digital Bros Game Academy, it's a simple Hyper Casual game developed in Unity using C#. The player uses a ship in a side scroller level with enemies and obstacles, the player can shoot the enemies and gain resources from them or from of the multiple treasure chests under the see. The game is composed with several levels, ordered by difficulty, to complete and obtain skulls (that replaces the classics 3 stars).

Game Systems and Gameplay

  • Settings: Audio settings.
  • Save system: Saving and loading the game.
  • Progression system:Managing to pass levels with valutation and unlocking new levels.
  • Resources and pickupables:flags, doubloons and cannonballs.
  • Actors: Basic actors setup, used as base class from other programmers.
  • Graphics and Enviroments:Water Shader, Scrolling background and fishes.
  • Tool - From Editor to Game: a simpler and automated way, designed for designer, to just create the level and made him ready to play in the game.
The entire game programming was made with C#.

UI/HUD

  • Main Menu:All the logic of the main menu and its sub-menus.
  • Pause Menu and GameOver: inside the game menus.
  • HUD: the in game HUD, from player resources to enemies ship.

Documentation

I managed to produce some Documentantion to help designers and programmers understand the core systems of the game.
